Not all that much...

Going on with me! I am still sick! Yes, I know it is crazy to be sick for this long. I don't understand it either! I have been tested for strep twice and have been negative both times. I have laryngitis so bad that I have to really yell to get myself heard then am so sore and strained that I have to recover for a day! I haven't really been paying much attention to my eating and food, and I haven't been to the gym in 3 weeks. But I hop on the scale and peek every once in a while and I know that I am under 200 and happy for that. I thought today that I would get out of the house a little and try to get some fresh air. So I went for a walk around our neighborhood with the toddler. It was nice. So then I got out again and walked with him again to go meet my girls on their walk home from school. That was nice. Then I kinda got this crazy idea to put my bike together and go for a ride! When we lived here in Utah before, we used to go on bike rides all the time. It was either up Provo canyon or around the neighborhood that we lived in, but it was about every other weekend and some weeknights if we felt the urge! Then we moved to Atlanta Georgia. Getting out on a bike there just wasn't as easy or convenient. There was a lot of traffic all the time and things just weren't set up like they are here! So we never got our bikes out the whole 4 years we were there. Well, let me tell you, I kicked my leg over that bike and started peddling and thought "Wow, this is going to be so much fun!" I even texted Christi and told her that I got my bike out and would be riding over to her house every once in a while! She lives just 10 blocks maybe 1/4mile up the road. Well, I rode with my 9 year old over to her friends house which is about a block and a half and then dropped her off and rode home. I couldn't breathe and when I got off the bike my legs almost buckled under me. It was so sad. I couldn't even handle 3 blocks! Needless to say I humbled myself and texted Christi and canceled my little invite to stop by her house every once in a while! I think that I have had a good reality check on just how out of shape I am! So ladies I may not be joining you guys in the 5k, I really need to get my endurance up so that I don't go into cardiac arrest within the first 5-10 minutes. Man that was so funny and sad all at the same time! I guess I can stop seeing myself as an active 20 something and start thinking more along the lines of, crap I am getting close to 40 something! As of next month I will be closer to 40 than I am to 30! Reality check! Anyway I am really just rambling, Terry left for convention (for work) this morning and won't be back till late Friday, so here's to sleepless nights and frozen dinners! So anyone that wants to just come over and hang out or visit, just let me know!!!

So... this was just a reminder that you need to get in better shape! You have a good six weeks before that 5k! It's plenty of time. :o)
Hope you are feeling 100% soon!

You made me laugh!! Yeah, really lousy that you've been so sick. I'm finally feeling better. Just in time for my kids to get sick again. It never ends. Bring on spring!!! As far as biking. Even when I think I'm in shape I can not bike very well. I think it's so hard! I also have a tough time running. But I love to walk and do the elliptical. I can't imagine running the 5k myself. Guess if i wanted to I could. Do you want to? If so, make it happen. Train for it. Work towards it. If not, then get in shape other ways. Do the kind of exercise you enjoy. Walking with your kids is a great idea.

Don't feel bad. You've been sick, for crying out loud. I think that once you're up to 100%, the bike rides will be much easier.
